Studies on the fauna and zoogeography of Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea (Lepidoptera) of the Celestial Mountain Range [in Turkish], Cent. ent. Stud., Priamus Suppl. 2: 1-122, Tabs., 8 Pls. In this study, the fauna, taxonomy, ecological and zoogeographical features of the butterflies occuring in the Celestial Mountain Range are investigated. For this purpose, totally 291 species and 446 subspecies, belonging to the superfamilies Papilionoidea and Hesperioidea, including 156 species recorded by the author are studied. All the genus and species group names are controlled and updated in accordance with the Rules of the Code on the Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN). Proposals for the determined taxonomical problems are given. In Lycaenidae, Margelycaena (nom. nov.) and Athamanthia Zhdanko,1983 (syn.nov.) are proposed. Ecological information on some species obtained and 5339 specimens collected during the field works are evaluated. Faunal and ecological data determined here to be new are explained. Elements of the faunal regions composing some faunas of the mountains in the Celestial Mountain Range are evaluated zoogeographically. It was determined that the elements composing the whole fauna of the Celestial Mountains belong to totally 42 faunal regions. Zoogeographical results obtained are discussed and proposals are given.
